[ANNOUNCEMENT] 1.27 Enhancements Freeze in Effect

Hello Kubernetes Community,

The Enhancements freeze for Kubernetes v1.27 began at 18:00 PDT on Thursday 9th February 2023.

The Enhancements team is currently tracking 79 enhancements for this release.

We had a total of 96 enhancements opted-in to the release and 17 were either removed before freeze or removed at the freeze for missing KEP requirements.

Please see the Enhancements tracking board for more details.

Exceptions

Any additional enhancements that wish to join the release now must have an approved exception. If you plan to submit an exception request, please submit it as soon as possible.

Next Steps

For enhancement authors, if your enhancement is tracked for the v1.27 release please continue to link all k/k and k/website pull requests to your k/enhancements issue of visibility.

Upcoming dates for the v1.27 release are:

• Code Freeze - 17:00 PDT Tuesday 14th March 2023

• Test Freeze - 17:00 PDT Tuesday 21st March 2023

• Release Day - Tuesday 11th April 2023
