Hi all,

On behalf of the current SIG Autoscaling leadership (Maciek and myself) and as discussed on the SIG weekly meeting on the 10th of February, Maciek is stepping down from his leadership role within the SIG and we are proposing Kuba Tużnik (@towca) as the replacement chair.

Kuba has been contributing to the projects owned by the SIG since 2018, most significantly maintaining the cluster autoscaler since 2021. Over the last years, he's been driving the Dynamic Resource Allocation work for the SIG as well as wider convergence between Karpenter and Cluster Autoscaler.

The lazy consensus deadline for this proposal is one week from today - Friday the 28th of February.

This email is sent in accordance with the process updates for SIG leadership transitions (https://github.com/kubernetes/community/blob/master/contributors/chairs-and-techleads/leadership-changes.md) and the SIG Autoscaling charter (https://github.com/kubernetes/community/blob/master/sig-autoscaling/charter.md).

If you have any questions about this proposal, please reach out via any of:

- The #sig-autoscaling Slack channel
- The #sig-autoscaling mailing list
- Next week's (Monday the 24th of February) weekly SIG meeting
- Current SIG Autoscaling leads Maciek Pytel or Guy Templeton

If you have any private concerns, please reach out instead to: steering...@kubernetes.io

Thanks,

Guy

Hi all, The lazy consensus period has now passed for Kuba Tużnik to replace Maciek as the second chair of the SIG without objection, and is now confirmed. Given the increasing work and engagement with the SIG for large pieces of work we're also proposing in addition that we populate the SIG Tech Lead roles which the SIG hasn't made use of to this point. We are proposing Jack Francis (@jackfrancis) and Ray Wainman (@raywainman) as the initial tech leads. They have both had long standing involvement in the SIG, driving significant improvements to our engineering standards and processes across the SIG, and collaborating across SIGs including in the SIG's work on implementation of Dynamic Resource Allocation and the VPA's support for In Place Updates; between them they cover the range of sub projects owned by the SIG. The lazy consensus deadline for this proposal is one week from today - Monday the 10th of March. If you have any questions about this further proposal, please reach out via any of: - The #sig-autoscaling Slack channel - The sig-autoscaling mailing list - Current SIG Autoscaling leads Kuba Tużnik or Guy Templeton If you have any private concerns, please reach out instead to: steering...@kubernetes.io Thanks again, Guy
