[ANNOUNCEMENT] Org Members are now Eligible Voters for the Steering Election

Hello Kubernetes Contributors,

GitHub contributions were not accurately tracked for the first four months of 2026. Eligibility to vote is based on contributions and org membership. Members of the SRC or CoCC are eligible to vote. Since contributions were not accurately tracked, the Steering Committee has voted[0] to allow all Kubernetes org members to be eligible to vote in the 2026 Steering Committee Election[1]. 

You can check your voter eligibility by checking elections.k8s.io[2], login with your GitHub account, and click “Explore Election” to find the 2026 Steering Committee election.

Voting starts Friday, August 14 (00:00:01 UTC) and you have until Thursday, October 1st to complete your ballot.
