WG Batch leadership change

Hello kubefolks:

I wanted to announce my intent to step down from the WG Batch Organizers. I would like to nominate Kevin Hannon to succeed me in the role. Kevin has been a deeply involved contributor to the WG since its inception. He’s a reviewer of the Jobset project, and has made significant contributions to Kueue, the job controller and kubelet.

I am very proud of all the progress that the WG has made and all the features we have merged into Kubernetes and SIG-sponsored projects to help Kubernetes and the ecosystem to better run batch and training applications. There are still so many open questions to resolve and KEPs to be written. I am confident that Kevin could help steer the discussions to come, along with the rest of the Organizers.

If you have any concerns about the nomination, please reach out to any of the current Organizers or the Steering Committee.

Lazy consensus deadline for this proposal is in a week - October 16th, 2024.

Thank you for your efforts leading this working group from the beginning. You leave big shoes to fill and you have made this group a very welcoming area to contribute.

I got my start in the Kubernetes community by following/contributing to this working group and I  am happy to accept the nomination and I look forward to working folks on this as an organizer.
