Howdy!
After discussion during the previous release cycle, it was determined necessary to send a reminder about what constitutes changes that must be tracked. Even if your KEP will not be graduating to a new stage, you may still need to opt-in so that the Enhancements subteam can track your KEP.
Refactors or improvements that do not affect behavior and bug fixes do not require tracking by the Release Team. Refactors or improvements that do affect behavior, or any change that is user-facing (such as enabling new endpoints that should be documented), require tracking by the Release Team and so must meet relevant Enhancements Freeze, Code Freeze, and Docs Freeze deadlines.
KEPs found in violation of this at any point in the release cycle will be required to comply with any outstanding exception request deadlines, and the associated PRs may be reverted. If you are unsure whether or not planned work for your KEP meets the threshold for requiring tracking, please reach out to SIG Release on Slack.
