Hi all,

No, you do NOT need your KEPs merged by the PRR freeze next week, nor do they need to have even had PRR review or approval. This question comes up every cycle.

PRR freeze (one week from tomorrow) is the date by which we expect the PRR questions to be filled out in your KEP. It is NOT the day by which you need to have PRR approval. The PRR team is relatively small and reviews all KEPs. In order to guarantee we get to your KEP, we ask that you have the PRR sections done by the PRR freeze, one week before the real enhancements freeze. We will make a best effort for anyone that doesn't make that deadline, but no guarantees.

If you have your PRR sections done for the stage you are targeting in 1.33, and you have created a prod-readiness file with an approver, then you are all set for a prod readiness reviewer to pick up your KEP. See https://github.com/kubernetes/community/blob/master/sig-architecture/production-readiness.md#submitting-a-kep-for-production-readiness-approval for details on how to do that.

Please be responsive over the week between PRR freeze and KEP freeze to make sure your KEP can get into the release.

Thanks,
John
