SIG-etcd Leadership Update

Hi community,

On behalf of the SIG-etcd leadership, I would like to nominate Josh Berkus (@jberkus) as a co-chair of SIG-etcd.

Josh has made substantial, wide-ranging contributions to the etcd project across leadership, operations, and community engagement, including:

1. Serving as lead maintainer and approver of the website repository, ensuring its reliability and quality.
2. Playing an active leadership role in the etcd-operator working group.
3. Contributing to the documentation.
4. Acting as a key liaison with the Kubernetes communication team to ensure timely and effective outreach.
5. Managing the security mailing list and coordinating responsible disclosure with vulnerability reporters.
6. Organizing KubeCon talks, events, and kiosk shifts in close coordination with the CNCF team, raising etcd's visibility in the community.

Given the breadth and depth of his contributions, I strongly nominate Josh for the SIG-etcd co-chair position. Formalizing his role would not only recognize the significant effort he has already invested but also empower him to drive even greater impact for the project and its community.

The lazy consensus deadline for this proposal is in two weeks, April 29th, 2026.

I also want to add one more thing to his contribution list and personally thanks for his amazing mentorship for all contributors in the community. Can't wait to see more initiatives from you, Josh!
