Hi all,

On behalf of the current SIG Autoscaling leadership (Marcin and myself) and as discussed on the SIG weekly meeting on the 8th of April, Marcin is stepping down from his leadership role within the SIG and we are proposing Maciek Pytel (@maciekpytel) as the replacement chair/TL.

Maciek has been contributing to the projects owned by the SIG since 2017, most significantly maintaining the cluster autoscaler since 2018. Over the last years, he's been helping to drive the direction for convergence between Karpenter and the Cluster Autoscaler and improve the SIG's processes around releases.

The lazy consensus deadline for this proposal is one week from today - Friday the 19th of April.

This email is sent in accordance with the process updates for SIG leadership transitions (https://github.com/kubernetes/community/blob/master/contributors/chairs-and-techleads/leadership-changes.md) and the SIG Autoscaling charter (https://github.com/kubernetes/community/blob/master/sig-autoscaling/charter.md).

If you have any questions about this proposal, please reach out via any of:

- The #sig-autoscaling Slack channel
- The #sig-autoscaling mailing list
- Next week's (Monday the 15th of April) weekly SIG meeting
- Current SIG Autoscaling leads Marcin Wielgus or Guy Templeton

If you have any private concerns, please reach out instead to: steering...@kubernetes.io

Thanks,

Guy

Thanks for all the work that you've done here Marcin. The SIG wouldn't look the way it does today without all of your hard work. +1 for Maciek and his new role. He has been great to work with as we are doing more thinking about what Node Autoscaling and SIG Autoscaling in general looks like going forward.
