Kubernetes patch releases for January 2026 are still delayed

Dear Kubernetes community,

The January 2026 patch releases remain delayed. These releases were originally postponed to January 20 to give contributors more time for post-holiday cherry-picks and reviews. In the meantime, the Go team issued new security releases, and the team is now wrapping up the necessary updates before cutting the patches.

We’ll share an update once the releases are ready to go out.
