[Action Required] 2025 Kubernetes GitHub Org Membership Audit & Cleanup

Hello everyone,

This is a reminder about the ongoing 2025 annual audit and cleanup of Kubernetes GitHub Organization membership.

Following the audit on June 18, 2025, 300 inactive members [1] out of 1,532 members, are slated for removal from the Kubernetes GitHub organisations.

As part of this process, OWNERS files will also be reviewed and updated to reflect these changes – members will either be removed or transitioned to Emeritus status, as applicable.

If you're on the removal list but actively contribute in areas not captured by DevStats, please comment on the org cleanup issue [2] with details about your contributions by July 18, 2025.

Please note – the removal process will begin in the first week of July 2025. The exception window remains open until July 18, 2025.
