Leadership Update: Kubernetes SIG Storage Co-Chair Transition

Hi everyone,

After serving as the co-chair of Kubernetes SIG Storage for over 10 years, I am writing to announce that I will be stepping down from this role. It has been an incredible privilege, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a dedicated and talented community over the years.

As my availability has shifted, I want to ensure this role receives the depth of engagement it deserves. After discussing with Xing, Michelle, and Jan, we are nominating Hemant Kumar to take over as the new SIG Storage co-chair.

Hemant has demonstrated exceptional leadership, long-term engagement, and a profound understanding of our SIG's goals. We are incredibly optimistic about the continued progress and future of SIG Storage with him stepping into this position.

Please join me in thanking Hemant for stepping up. If you have any concerns regarding this nomination, please reach out to the existing SIG Storage leadership (Michelle, Jan, Xing, and I). The deadline for lazy consensus on this change is July 8, 2026. We hope to welcome him as our new co-chair effective Jul 8, 2026.
