Hello Kubernetes community!

After discussion[1], the Release Team has decided to delay the Kubernetes 1.25 Enhancements Freeze to Thursday 23rd June 2022. The Production Readiness Soft Freeze deadline will be extended to Thursday 16th June 2022 accordingly. This will give one extra week for enhancements to be worked on.

This is in consideration of giving KEP authors and reviewers more time to work on enhancements. Multiple SIGs have raised access issues with the enhancements tracking sheet as part of the enhancements opt-in process. The enhancements freeze extension will give SIGs who experienced access issues more time to opt-in. Please keep in mind that the code freeze date has not been changed. Please plan your implementation time accordingly.

If you have any questions, please do reach out to us in #sig-release[2] or #release-enhancement[3] on Slack!

Thanks,

Cici Huang
