Happy New Year!
On the Account Delegate document, you can specify From/To dollar limitations.  The User Guide says that these limits will determine whether the delegation is applicable based on whether the transaction is within the dollar range.  We noticed that if a DV has an account with this type of dollar restricted delegation, the delegate will be listed in the routing only if the total amount of the DV is within the range, not just the amount for the account.  The DV could have multiple accounts causing the total amount to exceed the dollar range but the amount for the account is within the range.

Is this how the delegation is supposed to work?  I would think the delegate could approve for the account as long as the account amount is within the dollar range.

thanks,
tammy

Hi Tammy, fwiw -  I agree. It seems the delegation should be based on the amount on the account, not the amount of the document.

I think in the case of a DV it’s always been the document total… I could be wrong.

No, I think you're right that's how it's behaving and has most likely always behaved. However, it seems like it should be looking at the account, not the document.

I’d be worried about changing this behavior without doing a lot of analysis.

Thanks Cathy and Kymber for confirming.  I agree that it should be checking account total but if it is modified, there should be a lot of testing.

Setting the limits at the account level supports a decentralized control model.
