Greetings,

This might be a question better suited to Rice, but here goes.  In KC, we have a workflow where a document might require approval by safety officers (specifically, Radiation and Biohazard).  Currently, they can only enter comments if they choose to disapprove (return) the protocols, in order to specify why they returned the document.

Has anyone updated their workflows to allow comments when they approve?  I’m searching through the Rice documentation that we have, and I haven’t found anything that determines whether a comment field is presented upon approval/disapproval.

We’re still on the baseline KC 5.2.1, by the way.

Thanks in advance,

Chuck

Chuck,

Good to hear a voice from the past :).

Actually I think this is a KC specific feature not a rice feature.    We are on a newer version using KRAD PD so I am not sure where the KRNS code for this feature resides.  In KRAD version there is a dialog which is presented when you select the Reject button.

<!-- KC-950 Rename "Reject" button within the Proposal Actions tab --><bean parent="Uif-SecondaryActionButton" p:actionLabel="Return for Changes" p:actionScript="showDialog('PropDev-SubmitPage-RejectDialog')" p:order="50"
                          p:additionalCssClasses="btn-danger" p:render="@{#editModes['rejectProposal']}"/>

So we could easily do the same thing for Approve, perhaps with some logic to decide if the action should be to display the dialog or simply approve based on the approval step the document was on.

Sorry I don't remember where this was in the KRNS version of PD but given this logic is in the KC code for the KRAD version I suspect it would be for the KRNS version as well.   So you might want to seek out the code in KC rather than in Rice.

Good luck.  I hope this info helps at least a little.

Cheers,
Ron
