Dear Comp541 Students,

We will do project presentations for the next few lectures. Each presentation will be allocated ~10 minutes + ~5 minutes for questions. According to the 1 slide / minute rule you should have around 10 slides in your presentation. Please make them informative: use them for visualization rather than for speaker notes, less text, more pictures. See my notes at the end of the Final Project document for detailed advice. I highly recommend Patrick Winston's How to Speak lecture if you have not seen it.

Participants will grade speakers on 8 criteria detailed in the attached form: Problem, Data, Model, Results, Terms, Visuals, Timing and Answers. Please read and understand this form and make sure your presentation covers all the requirements.

The presenters of each day will be determined the morning of the presentation. The presentations will be made on the classroom computer: make sure your links on the course website are correct and up to date.

Attendance is mandatory to all presentation sessions: your project grade will partially be based on your presentation attendance, questions, and consistency of the scores you give to other presentations.

I am looking forward to hearing about your work. See you all tomorrow morning.

best,
deniz

Dear all,

A minor edition. Instead of using separate files for evaluation, we will be using this google form: https://forms.gle/xKRA1UUtXoSVtGsH9
Please be reminded that both attendance and filling the form for each presenter is mandatory.

Best,
Ali
