On the matter requesting consent for COMP 541

Dear Hocam,

I am writing to you to request consent for COMP 541. I am studying mathematics, and aim to steer my career towards Machine Learning. I have a strong foundation with the mathematics required for this course, including but not limited to multivariate calculus, statistics and linear algebra. I have also been coding in python for nearly seven years now.

I have been unofficially following a post grad deep learning course from CMU online (I follow along through YouTube). I follow the homeworks and assignments that are publically available online, and I have so far built a linear frame level speech recognition model in pytorch, and a facial classification and verification CNN model that I have yet to fine tune and dive deeper into for my own understanding. 

I had to put my course learning on hold temporarily since I received a project from my employer to build a proof of concept CNN (for a medical tech-startup) that can segment various cells and locate bright red markers within them. This project is what I am engulfed in currently. 

I would love to share more details of my experience so far if you wish!

I am relatively new to this field and I know how much there is still to learn but I am extremely eager to enroll in COMP 541 and learn more from you in a classroom environment. 

I realize this is a long email for what is essentially a request for consent, but I look forward to hearing from you.
