Hello KP Community,
I’m excited to invite you to our Back to School Picnic on Friday, September 26. It’s always one of my favorite traditions — a chance to relax together, meet new families, and celebrate the start of another great year at KP. Bring your blankets, chairs, and smiles — I hope to see you there!
I also want to take a moment to share some gratitude:
Thank you to Carolina, who has stepped up as our International Night Chair.
Congratulations to Mary Green, who will be leading the Green Team this year. I know both will bring wonderful energy and creativity to KP.
A big thanks as well to our Fifth Grade Bake Sale team — their efforts help fund special traditions like the year-end picnic, class t-shirts, yearbooks, and even gifts back to the school (like the Gaga Pit!).
And finally, appreciation for the volunteers making our Running Club possible every Wednesday. Kids love running laps, earning charms, and cheering each other on — and it only works because of you.
I’m grateful for the way our community continues to show up for our children. Together, we make KP a place where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
With blessings,
Uduak Ogunsiakan

What’s the story with all these fifth grade bake sales?
Each year, the fifth grade organizes fundraisers to cover the cost of special activities as students celebrate their last year of elementary school. Planned activities include:
A year-end fifth grade picnic
DJ dance party
Yearbooks for all fifth grade students
Class t-shirt
Class gift to the school (last year’s class gave us the Gaga Pit at recess!)
To make these possible, we rely on bake sales and dine-out nights (restaurants like Five Guys and Chipotle donate a portion of sales to KP fifth grade).
Even if fifth grade feels far away, it will be here before you know it — and we love keeping this tradition alive so that every student has a chance to celebrate their last year at KP.
Thank you for your support — and we’ll see you at the Back to School Picnic!
