Aspen Library Software Foundation is now a member of Open Library Foundation

Greetings, 

Aspen Library Software Foundation (ALSF) Board of Directors met on 13 July. Minutes will be formally approved at our next meeting but we wanted to make everyone aware of coming changes. 

ALSF is now a member of Open Library Foundation (OLF). This will enable ASLF to function like a nonprofit in the USA without having to formally create a 501c3 with the IRS. OLF membership comes with benefits. We'll have our own Slack, Zoom, Google G-Suite, a website, and bank account. 

First step is setting up the bank account. This is work-in-progress. As soon as this is finalized, we will solicit donations to cover OLF membership fees. 

Next step will be transitioning to the new Slack and Google G-Suite. Nothing to do at this time but it's coming. 

ALSF Board wants to make everyone aware of these changes as early and often as possible. Stay tuned. 

ALSF Board meets the second Monday of the month. The meetings are open to everyone.
