Position:
Accessibility Specialist for Instructional Web Content

Skills required:
Experienced with web code language such as HTML, CSS, Javascript; understand web accessibility regulations and policies; familiar with assistive technologies; demonstrate ability to develop web pages with elegant and usable interface for a variety of delivery platforms.
Skills desired:
Experienced with recent web standards such as CSS3, HTML 5, WCAG 2.0 WAI-ARIA, ActionScript; experience with graphics computer graphics and design software; demonstrate ability to organize large projects into modular parts for team members; familiar with pedagogical theories and practices; demonstrate awareness to the needs of students, faculty, advocacy groups, university regulations and vendors.

Description:
Learning Technology is a group within IT Services Teaching and Learning which supports faculty in their instructional role.  Learning Technology work closely with faculty and instructional designers to  produce instructional content and tools for high-quality online & blended courses.  

Successful candidate will work in a collaborative team environment, and be responsible for advising, consulting, developing, structuring and implementing web-accessibility solutions to maintain compliant online course content for faculty and instructional designers. They will coordinate remediation efforts with employees and sub-contractors to meet performance standards of MSU-authored online content.  They will participate and contribute to campus efforts and professional groups regarding web accessibility.
