Hi everyone

A little collab between Susty and Civic is resulting in the Leftover Love programme, where we collect leftover (non perishable, sealed) food items and donate them to the food banks/pantries in the region. Less food waste, more regional love.

We have colab'd w/ Kitchen, so we don't cannibalise collexodus collections.

We are collecting unopened (sealed) non-perishable goods such as canned goods e.g. beans, veggies, fruit, tuna etc. and packaged dry goods e.g. pasta, that are leftover and people are willing to send to a local good cause.
People can donate:
  1. During collexdous,
  2. We will be doing camp to camp collections on Sat/Sun arvo.
  3. To a central location pre temple burn
There will be comms in the lead up so people don't pack their beans right at the bottom of everything.

The places donations end up are the Taihape Food Bank (who work directly with referred families in need) and the Marton Food Pantry (which is an open community pantry). We've talked to both about their needs/requirements and they were both overwhelmingly stoked at the possibility of donations.

Any thoughts or collection vollies welcome :)
Jess
