Stable release 7.0.7

We are planning to release version 7.0.7 on August 15th. This means
that we will tag the repos on the 13th. If you have any remaining tasks
to complete for the next bug fix release, please have them done by this
date or they will have to wait until 7.0.8. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Wayne:

Is good to know it. Looking at the 7.0 nightly (stable nightly) PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~kicad/+archive/ubuntu/kicad-7.0-nightly) I only see:

7.0.6-rc3-2-testing~172+202307051204~9d5f85634c~ubuntu22.04.1

Which seems to be quite old. Any ideas?

I haven't pushed the 7.0.7-rc1 tag yet. The plan is to do that around
5PM EST today.

Sorry about that.  Looks like the debian numbering system was seeing 7.0.6-rc3-2-testing~172+202307051204~9d5f85634c~ubuntu22.04.1 as "newer" than 7.0.6-2-testing~172+202308021204~9d5f85634c~ubuntu22.04.1.

I've removed the 7.0.6 RC and re-started the Ubuntu testing builds.  They should be updated later today

I noticed that the ERC dialog is no longer closed when pressing "ESC" key. Couldn't find a commit message that explicitly mentions it.

I just tested this on Ubuntu 23.04 on my laptop and pressing the escape
key closed the ERC dialog as expected. Are you sure the ERC dialog had
the focus when you pressed the escape key?

More on this: If you don't run the ERC the dialog is closed with ESC.
But if you run the ERC the dialog can't be closed using ESC.

There was a focus issue with GTK (somehow the focus was never returned to the window properly after the button press), so we have to manually force it. Commit in master now (https://gitlab.com/kicad/code/kicad/-/commit/1dd92b1bb13c1f15519e8fd8b1c12206981b1ae0), so we can backport it to 7.0.8 after it has sat in master for some testing and once that branch is open for commits.
