I’m Arindam Hore from India, a CS engineering student interested in systems and lower-level software. I’ve worked with C/C++, Python, Linux, and general software development, and have previously contributed to LibreOffice with 13 merged commits.

I recently joined a semiconductor company as an Engineering Apprentice and would like to explore KiCad and contribute as a volunteer while learning.

Could you suggest a good area, project, or beginner-friendly issue to start with?

If you have not done so already, please ready the "Getting Started" document and all of the documentation referenced.  This explains the expectations when contributing to KiCad.  If you are planning on using LLMs, please follow the "Tool Generated Content Policy".  Please feel free to reach out on the developer's mailing list if you have any questions.  Best of luck and thank you for you interest in contributing to KiCad.
