About translations, especially the French one

I have a question about translations.

In the translation section of the documentation
(https://dev-docs.kicad.org/en/translation/index.html), I can read:

“At this time, the French translation of KiCad is managed outside of
Weblate by Jean-Pierre Charras, so French is not available as one of the
translated languages to edit in Weblate.”

Is this still true?

Currently, a French translation DOES exist in Weblate, it is only 93%
complete, and I can find many things in this translation which would
need to be fixed.
And Jean-Pierre Charras does not seem to have contributed on this list
for something like four years.

I could try to do it myself, at least partly, but I'd like to be sure
that my contributions would be taken in account.
