Tamil is an ancient and rich language, spoken by more than 70 million people worldwide, primarily in India. As one of the longest surviving classical languages in the world, Tamil carries with it a profound history and cultural significance that is truly remarkable.
In today's technology-driven world, it's critical to ensure that software interfaces are accessible to people from all linguistic backgrounds. This is where the concept of localizing software like KiCad into Tamil becomes important. By providing a Tamil language interface, we can effectively bridge the language barrier, opening up the software to millions of potential new users who are more comfortable using their native language.
Localizing technology doesn't just benefit users, but it also fosters innovation at a local level. By making software like KiCad accessible in Tamil, we can inspire and enable more Tamil speakers to participate in technology development and application, potentially leading to new advancements and discoveries that may not have been possible otherwise.

Hello La-niko-
I've added Tamil to the translation options. This will be installable during the development phase. For releases, we generally look to see if the language has sufficient percentage translated to decide if it should be included in the release. If not, we keep the existing translations and roll it over to the next release cycle.
Some languages, such as Romanian or Catalan, have been included in previous releases but fell into disrepair over the years and are currently not included in releases. All existing and previous translations are still included in the source, they just don't match to the current KiCad strings.
You should be able to try out the new Tamil translation at Weblate shortly. Let us know if you have any questions.
