Nobles,
The week is finally here—our 47th Oyster Roast! I’m looking forward to a great weekend filled with hard work, good food, and even better fellowship. I wanted to share a few quick updates and give everyone a heads-up on the schedule as we get things rolling.
Tuesday (Today):
We’ve got dirt being delivered to fill in some of the low spots in the grass. This will help keep everyone safe and avoid any unexpected trips or falls.
Thursday:
Roger will be working with the Sheriff’s office on tent setup and getting tables out. Later that afternoon, a few folks will begin setting up the ballroom.
Friday:
This is our big setup day—tents going up, tables being assembled, picnic tables moved, and general prep. We’ll get started around 2 PM, and any help you can give is greatly appreciated. If you can only make it later, no problem—every set of hands helps.
Saturday – Event Day:
We’ll kick things off around 7 AM. Please check in with your committee head for your specific time. We’d like all workers on site by noon.
Just a heads-up—we will not be serving lunch this year, but we will have breakfast to help carry everyone through until the event begins.
Cleanup:
We’ll need all hands on deck at 4 PM to break everything down. With the Easter Egg Hunt the next day, we need to leave the grounds clean and ready. Please take a few minutes to clean up your area and help others if you finish early. Many hands truly make light work—and get us all home faster.
I truly appreciate everything each of you does to make this event a success. It wouldn’t happen without your time, effort, and dedication. I’m excited to see everyone this weekend and share in what is always one of our best events of the year.
S/F,
Wayne Sherman Jr.
