Don Carl Hodges obituary, Chesapeake, VA

Don Carl Hodges, 75, passed away January 8, 2025. Don, also known as Sack, was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late James and Lucille Tatem Hodges.

Don graduated from Oscar F. Smith High School in 1967. He served in the United States Naval Reserves as an Airplane Mechanic. Don worked in Law Enforcement for over 30 years serving as a Sergeant and K-9 Officer in the Chesapeake Sheriff's Department, an Investigator in the State Corporation Commission, and a Trooper in the Virginia State Police. He retired from the Virginia State Police in 2002. Don was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church, Berkley Masonic Lodge #167, Princess Anne Masonic Lodge #25, and the Khedive Shriners. Don loved spending time with his family and traveling.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Katherine "Kathy" Hodges; daughter, Renee Spratley (Tim); brothers, James Hodges (Lynne), John Hodges (Patty), and Ron Hodges (Fay); and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home with Minister Mary Watson officiating. Masonic Rites will be given. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
