Not J as such, but my excuse is that this arises from this week's
ArrayCast.
I looked up SAC and am now wondering how to download it for Windows.
I've got as far as installing ubuntu Linux using WSL (Windows subsystem
for Linux),
and can easily start a unix screen running. I used to know unix quite
well, though
not as an owner, and I don't know how to set about downloading files
such as (say)
https://gitlab.sac-home.org/.../Ubl22-x86_64/2.0.0-85-1/basic/sac2c-2.0.0-Tintigny-85-g7dcc5-omnibus.deb
,
nor where to put them and how to initialise them.
I see the default package manager for ubuntu is apt, but a tip or two
on how to apply it - the man page
is formidable! - or on whether to employ an alternative manager.
Thanks for any insight,
Mike
