[ J7 beta] JQT selecting text with mouse drops selection almost always

This is in windows 11.  J5.1 seems well behaved.

For me with the latest Jqt on Win11, selecting text and copying work
properly. Can you let us know exactly what you tried?

As regards on mouse up selection disappears, AFAIK this is the usual
behaviour of text editors.

Not emacs, at least on linux. The text selection stays until you do
something else.

The problem you described sounded familiar, but I've just tested the latest J7 beta and it works fine on Windows 11.

If memory serves, I experienced a similar problem in a browser after an extended delay for the page to respond. My issue disappeared when I signed off all users and rebooted the machine.

As a sanity check I copied your problem description and pasted it into Google. That response seems to suggest this is a well-known Windows issue but with so many possible solutions it doesn't sound like they really understand what's going on.

The problem disappeared yesterday.  Today it happens less than 1 in 10 mouse selections.  I can't say that Jqt is the problem.
