J9.8 beta cycle has started.

You need to do a full install of the 9.8 beta to get started.

After the full install you can do engine upgrades for subsequent beta releases.

This beta introduces the new viewmax addon, a significant extension of
viewmat. viewmax enables visualization of cross-sections of arrays of
arbitrary rank. The addon provides a GUI that lets you select two axes
to visualize and smoothly move through slices along the remaining axes
using sliders. The GUI also includes a selection of built-in colormaps
and several additional visualization options.
