could be written as 

0j2 { 0 (0j2)} i.3 3

the main advantage would be to be able to store cell indexes in a list that includes other atomic numbers, or allow a function that computes an index to form an atom, or list of atoms (though boxing atoms or  vectors will allow them to be concatenated in caller).  Low priority for sure, but something intuitive other than domain error.

then you have:

(1 j. 2)&{ -: (<1 2)&{
(1 j. 1)&{ -: (<1 1)&{

but not:

(1 j. 0)&{ -: (<1 0)&{

so you have to be extremely careful around zeroes. this does not seem very usable to me
