Apparent fault on Debug using $: on Mac

Running debug produces the message:

"Unable to get representation of: 

Abc"

When Abc is:

Abc =: 1 2 3 &$: : (4 : 0)

x + y

)

It is probably not related, but the installation of J also produced an error messages:

. not found: plot.ijs. But could easily find the ws.

. Error when loading startup.ijs. I also loaded this file manually.

Of course, I also had to fiddle with the security settings before installing J.  

All this leads me to wonder if my Macbook Air install is optimal.
