Hello art and tech folks;

Electric Sky is only two weeks away!  We have less than ten camping spots left, so be sure to register to save your spot.  Registration required if you are camping overnight.

That said, our "Luminous Garden" Saturday night party is open to the general public. Come up just for the night to see some fabulous, interactive, luminous art that evening 8:00pm-11:00pm.

Here's the updated event information:

Note this is a nonprofit event run by volunteers!

What's it like?

Electric Sky is a cross between an artists' retreat and a hackathon, where you'll spend several days in the woods, on the river, in our outdoor creativity lab, making stuff with people like you. Check out our website and wrap up blog post with photos from last year.

Where is it?

In a field, in the woods, on the Skykomish river, in the beautiful Sky Valley, 1.5 hour drive East into the mountains from Seattle on Hwy-2.

What's new this year?  The Luminous Garden!

This year we will be orchestrating a more collaborative group installation, the Luminous Garden.   Imagine an otherworldly garden biosphere with technologically infused, interactive and self-illuminated organic objects or sculptural elements.  If this sounds fun to you, think about what you would like to create as part of our garden.  Gazebos, insects, shrubs, trees, flowers, interpretive sculptures, alien critters...anyone may participate!

Luminous Garden Projects:

Several exciting Luminous Garden projects are already under way, a veritable jumble of self-illumination, interactive LEDs, sensors, kinetic sculpture, projection, and sound! Learn more about these projects and how you can join the collaboration at http://electricskyartcamp.com/projects/

Workshops:

Electric Sky is a great place to learn how to incorporate tech into your art.  You can do so informally in the creativity lab, or through our three workshops:

·  Fri:  Introducing Wearable Arduinos and Controllable LEDsby artist/ technologist Shelly Farnham

·  Sat: The Joys of the 2D Cutterby industrial designer Dave Hull.  Learn how to use a 2D cutter (Silhouette Cameo) for cutting or drawing vector shapes on a variety of sheet materials.

·  Sat: Crash Course in Cartooningby cartoonist (and web developer) Jeremy Kayes.  A little bit of drawing skill can go a long way, no matter what you're working on.

·  Sat: Kids will be Pests (for kids of all ages), by creative catalyst Carey Christie & crew.  Create the most fantastic kinds of insects, including the use of tiny recorders and LED lights.
