Invitation to participate doctoral research study

Hello, my name is Racheal Derrick. I am a doctoral learner at Grand Canyon University under the supervision of Dr. Kurt Hubbard. You are invited to participate in a research study exploring the perceptions that instructors in teacher preparation programs in the United States have of learning styles and how they describe how learning styles may influence their instruction.

INCLUSION- I am recruiting individuals that meet these criteria:

You must currently teach in a teacher preparation program in the United States.

You must be willing to participate in one virtual semi-structured interview. The interview will last a minimum of 60 minutes. Zoom® and Otter AI® will be used for the interview.

You must have some knowledge or experiences with learning styles.

EXCLUSION- You cannot be in this study if:

You are not currently teaching in a teacher preparation program in the United States.

You are not willing to participate in one virtual semi-structured interview to last a minimum of 60 minutes on the Zoom® and Otter AI® platform.

You do not have any knowledge or experiences with learning styles.

The ACTIVITIES for this research project will include:

One virtual semi-structured interview. The interview will last a minimum of 60 minutes. The interview will be conducted on the researcher’s Zoom® account. The interview will be recorded and transcribed via Zoom® and Otter AI®.

Member checking the transcript of the interview. Checking will take approximately one hour.

Your participation in this study is voluntary. Data for the study will be kept on a password protected computer. Participant identifiers will be used for confidentiality. Data will be deleted three years after the completion of the dissertation.
