Hello, everyone,
The position as Director of Teaching and Learning for the Maple League of Universities is not being continued past the end of this month. The Maple League Board of Governors, formed by the VP academic from the four institutions, will be reviewing the organizational model and proceeding with a revised approach for the consortium.
During my three-year term, I had the privilege to work with the Maple League Teaching and Learning Committee. Creating space for emerging leaders and new practitioners to form community with experienced teachers and leaders, this committee has been engaged in co-designing and co-delivering innovative programming for little over a decade.
It is in this context that the Maple League Teaching and Learning Committee warmly invites you to our last Better Together of the year: The Social Mission and Public Value of Postsecondary Education with Erin Austen (St. Francis Xavier University), Eva Curry (Acadia University), Jessica Riddell (Bishop’s University) and, Toni Roberts (Mount Allison University), hosted by Juan Carlos López (Maple League of Universities)
When: Thursday, Jun 11th, 12:00-1:30pm(ET)|1:00-2:30pm(AT)
Where: Live on Zoom – Register here: https://bit.ly/Postsecondary-Mission
Description: Over the past few months, the Maple League Better Together series has been exploring the theme of our current times as a time of rupture, of disruption, in light of our consortium’s guiding principles of collaboration and people-centred liberal education. Erin Austen (StFX), Eva Curry (Acadia), Jessica Riddell (Bishop’s University) and Toni Roberts (Mount Allison) come together to share their views on the power of collaboration and a liberal education in facing times of rupture. Hosted by Juan Carlos López, Director of Teaching and Learning at the Maple League of Universities, these four academic leaders will reflect on the social mission and public value of our postsecondary institutions to forge a better future.
