Dear Colleagues,

Please share this email widely to those who may be interested in documenting their teaching in an authentic and evidence-based way.

Announcing the launch of the Career Advancement Through Teaching Documentation (CATD) Certificate, which guides participants in bringing together the necessary components to successfully document their teaching in various forms.

In this asynchronous certificate participants learn how to build their teaching dossier/portfolio with substantial and relevant evidence that highlights their capabilities as an instructor. They will gain useful strategies on how to obtain feedback from students and peers, from themself, and from the literature. As well, they will practice writing an essential component of most job applications today, the teaching philosophy/narrative statement. By the end of the certificate, they will have a teaching dossier/portfolio with an aligned and authentic teaching /narrative statement and all components required to maintain a living document that they will continually use throughout their career. Participants receive detailed feedback on their completed dossier/portfolio.

Dear Colleagues,

As the fall term begins, you want to think about how to best document your teaching in an authentic and evidence-based way. This is important as you prepare for promotion and tenure or applying for new positions, to ensure that your dossier/portfolio clearly represents who you are as an instructor.

The Career Advancement Through Teaching Documentation (CATD) Certificate guides you in bringing together the necessary components to successfully document your teaching in various forms.

In this asynchronous certificate you will learn how to build your teaching dossier/portfolio with substantial and relevant evidence that highlights your capabilities as an instructor. You will gain useful strategies on how to obtain feedback from students and peers, from yourself, and from the literature. As well, you will practice writing an essential component of most job applications or for promotion/tenure today, the teaching philosophy/narrative statement.

By the end of the certificate, you will have a teaching dossier/portfolio with an aligned and authentic teaching/narrative statement and all components required to maintain a living document that you will continually use throughout your career. At the end of the certificate, you receive detailed feedback on your completed dossier/portfolio, a certificate, and a letter outlining the competencies you have attained.
