Unknown profile photoHi all,

Here is the draft giving feedback to Linear Algebra from the ML point of view. I'm not sure of what the layout should be.

Cheers,

Great!

What is the process to edit this?

I would like to make the following two changes:

For every place we describe behavior that is identical to Numpy, I think it would be helpful to point that out; likewise for where it differs from Numpy, where we may also want to add why it was chosen to be done differently. There seem to be some differences to Numpy in broadcasting w.r.t. access operator and views?

The term "dimension" is ambiguous, e.g. "The dimension of the second dimension is 42." Numpy uses the term "axis" for a dimension of a tensor. This leaves "dimension" open for the dimension of that axis. We'd need, however, to reconcile that with what is used in SG-15.

Thanks,

Frank

Just clock on the link button above or here and you should be able to edit directly (though a gmail account may make it easier but I am not sure if it is needed).

Hi, if Frank is asking about the expected rule of engagement for editing, then perhaps this longer answer will help and this is a good way to go over it for people who may be not familiar with it.

When collaborating on Google docs, there are three modes:
1. open editing: this will immediately replace existing text as is and is usually used on something that you deem non-controversial, information updates, obvious mistakes, editorial, etc
2. Suggestion: this puts in cross-overs on previous text and waits for someone to approve the change text, reserved for something that may be controversial
3. commenting: this opens a text box on the side for discussion: reserved for things that are definitely controversial

You can change the first 2 mode easily but the default is set by the owner and is usually open editing, unless changed.
Either way, you can see the old versions and the changes from the first pull down menu.
