This is our normal monthly call slot, but specifically to discuss the 2-3 papers that we are working on to post to Kona as the deadline is Monday, Jan 21 at 10 ET.

Do this is mostly for the paper contributors. If anyone is interested, I will be on and can help answer many of the questions as I know for many of you, this is the first time you have written a paper for ISO C++. Thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the call tomorrow. I will update the paper about Linear Algebra based on the feedback we had on this mailing list, I know that Matthieu will have a look this weekend too.

My question about this paper is how is it going to be processed? It is not a complete specification that could be pushed to the Evolution WG, and I understand that writing such a specification now would be premature. Is it for official communication between different working groups, to see what are the common needs, so we can write a specification that is more likely to be adopted? Will it be referenced by future papers (including the potential specification itself) ?

Thanks

And what is the position of this paper wrt SG14 proposal. I suggest watching this if you have time:

At this point, this paper is mostly an interim checkpoint to ourselves and a note to SG14 to sit up and take notice, aka don't do anything that disables our future direction. It is not ready for EWG review yet, but we will review it first with a joint session between sg14 and 19. I think I can convince the sg14 chair to have such a session:) And yes, it will act as future references

We do not  need a fully worded paper yet, at least not until SG14 LA is stabilized. We will likely have several of these papers/checkpoints to keep people reminded that we are active, and this paper is soliciting feedbacks.

OK, given the very few people who can make it. We will NOT hold an impromptu call today. It was mostly just to answer any last minute questions about submitting papers which can be dealt offline. Thanks.
