Hello all,
as many of you will already know, following the various discussions on P0267 "A Proposal to Add 2D Graphics Rendering and Display to C++" at the Jacksonville and Rapperswil WG21 meetings (where there was no consensus to proceeedl) the WG21 convenor (Herb Sutter) has proposed re-forming SG13 to "handle the Graphics proposal that does not currently have consensus to proceed in LEWG but has a critical mass of people actively interested in working on it".

Additionally there are other proposals in the offing in the HMI and I/O area that will fall into this study group's remit.

Herb has also asked me to chair the re-launched study group. I am not a graphics expert, but I am chair of the UK C++ panel which is one of the National Bodies that is keen to progress the 2D Graphics proposal, and I've served on WG21 for nearly ten years so "know the ropes" of the standards process.

We held a (re-)launch meeting at the San Diego WG21 meeting earlier this month with a doxen participants present and a couple joining remotely. I will shortly circulate the minutes from that discussion on this list for information for those not present.

I hope to hold telephone conference calls from time to time to allow us to make progress between WG21 meetings (and to enable people who cannot make the WG21 meetings to participate). More details to follow.

Regards,
Roger Orr

Hello all,
we plan to hold an hour's telecon on Wed 30 Jan at 18:00 UTC. We hope to use zoom conferencing (which allows for both online and phone access)
More details about the call to come in due course; we're awaiting changes to the access of the ISO zoom account.

Additionally, for those attending the Kona WG21 meeting SG13 is holding:
- an evening session on Thursday night on 'Audio basics' hosted by Timur Doumler (intro/background material hopefully of general interest)
- a half-day session on Friday afternoon to look at papers

Regards,
Roger.

Hello all,
the proposed zoom conference call is getting closer (and I hope to be able to send out the actual zoom invitation before too long)

I will be sending out an agenda before the meeting, so please send me any items that you wish to see on the agenda.

- I did not see any papers in the post-meeting mailing targeting SG13 (please correct me if I'm wrong).

- If anyone with a paper in the pre-Kona mailing that has an SG13 audience has a public link to the paper they could share in advance of the formal publication of the whole mailing please could they pass it to this list (and/or to me direct for adding to the agenda)

hope to (virtually) speak to you in just under a week's time

Roger Orr
