Dear ISMIR Community,
The time has come to hold an election for membership to the ISMIR Board! Serving as a member of the ISMIR Board provides an excellent way to collaboratively steward our research community to continued success. The ISMIR Board meets once a month for one hour to discuss a variety of issues, e.g., upcoming conferences, initiatives, financial status, etc. The occupancy of each position is two years.
Candidates are sought for the following positions:
- President Elect: Assist the President in all their tasks (preparing monthly agenda, leadership, fostering and working on new initiatives, facilitating the decision-making process of the Board, representing the Society, encouraging ISMIR members to bid for upcoming conferences and dealing with their queries, answering copyright requests from authors and publishers, and being the point of contact for random ISMIR-related issues). The President Elect transitions to become the President after this two-year position.
- Secretary: Maintains the ISMIR records, the board mailing list, and ISMIR website; prepares and submits necessary legal documents annually to maintain the society as a non-profit organization.
- Treasurer: maintains the financial accounts of the Society and prepares a balance sheet for the Annual Business Meeting of the Society; works with local organizers on financial matters, such as travel grants, etc.
- Member at Large: Contributes to the evaluation and assessment of long-term projects of the society; leads new initiatives for the benefit of the ISMIR society. Cannot be a student (post-doctoral students are permitted).
- Student Member: represents the perspectives of the students of ISMIR; contributes to discussions in the board meetings and initiatives. Must be a student during the two-year position.
If you are interested in any of these positions, or have any questions, please contact me or ISMIR President Meinard Müller (meinard...@audiolabs-erlangen.de). Self-nomination is permissible. If you would like to nominate someone for any of the positions below, please confirm with that individual before nominating them.
Sincerely,
-Bob.
