Dear all,

I am compiling a list of tools that our community currently uses for
creating listening tests and more involved on-line user studies.

It would be great to hear about toolkits or platforms that you would use
to build or set up a study involving music, e.g. with audio, video
playback and user interaction from simple rating/tagging to tapping etc.

Partial tools, e.g. for playback or user feedback collection would be of
interest as well.

It seems frameworks have come and gone with the fast development of
browsers, but what is currently active and used?

Best,

Daniel

I wrote my own tool for labeling short audio segments, for the purpose of training machine learning classifiers. You specify a directory of audio files, launch the app, and it presents a series of randomly chosen clips for you to label. The output is a CSV file.

The Audio Labeler app runs in a Docker container, so the GUI works identically on Mac/Windows/Linux. If you have questions, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Hi Daniel,

Here are briefly presented some manual annotation tools developed in the context of the AudioCommons project.
We have been using them in Freesound Annotator, a crowd-sourcing platform for creating datasets using Freesound content.

Sincerely,
Xavier
