Dear all,

A great opportunity at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway, if you're a computational biologist or bioinformatician eager to apply your skills and ingenuity to tackle cancer. There are two postdoc researcher positions open at NTNU as part of ERA PerMed project ONCOLOGICS under supervision of Dr. Åsmund Flobak. The two appointed postdocs will work in close collaboration with each other and with a large research team from leading European research organizations.

See more info and apply here:

The ONCOLOGICS consortium is launched to bring Personalised Medicine to the clinic by demonstrating that we can predict an individual’s tumour drug therapy responses through a platform comprising joint in silico computational modelling and functional validation in patient-derived tumor tissue cultivated ex vivo.

You will analyze various types of consortium-generated molecular data from colon cancer patients that have received medical therapies at Institut Curie and Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center, and contribute to innovative new integrative analysis methods that can provide detailed characterization of a patient’s tumour material

● You will design and develop computational models for therapy treatment simulations, based on DrugLogics software and other software solution from the consortium partners

● You will analyze discrepancies between computational model predictions and clinical observations from patients for which there is already treatment outcome data available

● You will contribute to the development of computational models, the analysis of model performance and iterative model refinement, and you will develop new metrics to evaluate model compliance with patient-derived tumour sample behaviour and drug response

Application deadline: September 15th 2021.

Trondheim is a beautiful city in the middle of Norway, rich in culture, cuisine, and wild-life. Just go outside your door and you can enjoy very late summer nights (and very early summer mornings), and perfect skiing and ice skating conditions in the winter.

Best regards,

Marcio
