[mlcsb.cosi] Postdoc/PhD position on Deep Learning for Drug Design

Dr. Jian Tang (www.jian-tang.com), a core faculty member at the Mila-Quebec AI Institute (https://mila.quebec/en/), Montreal, Canada, has multiple open positions for Postdoc/PhDs on Deep Learning for Drug Design. Mila is founded by the deep learning pioneer and Turing Award Winner Yoshua Bengio, and is the largest academic lab focusing on deep learning in the world (now has more than 500 researchers working on fundamental problems of machine learning and different applications).  Dr. Tang's lab focuses on the intersection of AI (graph neural networks, geometric deep learning, knowledge graphs) and drug design. In particular, these positions are looking for candidates with strong background in at least one of the following areas:

Biochemistry, structural biology, protein-protein interaction, protein-ligand interaction, protein design, antibody design. 

You will work on very challenging and fundamental problems on drug design with a multidisciplinary team and be able to collaborate with some of the best machine learning researchers in the world.

Skills: With 8 years of work experience, I have worked with the IBM research team on AI, and Machine learning projects on supervised and unsupervised Machine learning algorithms, Deep Learning, Word Embedding, Convolutional Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural network, LSTM, Text analytics, Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, Scientific Spacy, Gensim, Named Entity Recognition, anomalous behavior detection, architecting Gene Regulatory Network Architecture designing for identifying candidate driver genes for cancer, and currently developing a search engine to develop established AI products in the Healthcare. I have used C, Java, objective-C, Python, R programming languages. I got an award of full free registration to attend the conference and workshop track in ICML 2021, attended the Google Developer’s program, serving as a reviewer of a journal on AI & Deep Learning, attended the RegML summer program, Italy, and presented Attention is all you need paper to Portland State University, USA. I have contributed to real-world projects from multiple domain horizons & could transfer these skills in my PhD work.
