Job Openings: Bioinformatician and Ph.D. Student Systems Genetics

We have two job openings in the context of Machine Learning in Computational and Systems Biology, please feel free to forward.

Bioinformatician (m/f/d): We offer a full-time position (up to six years) in Bioinformatics with the option to pursue a habilitation in a chosen field of expertise within Genomics, Transcriptomics, Epigenomics or Epitranscriptomics within the Data Science group of the Research Center Borstel.

Ph.D. Student – Bioinformatician (m/f/d): We offer a three-year Ph.D. student position in Bioinformatics within the Data Science group of the Research Center Borstel. The Ph.D. project focuses on Systems Genetics and covers the analysis of genetic variant data with established methods from genome-wide association and quantitative trait loci studies (GWAS/QTL) as well as (novel) machine learning methods for polygenic scores and phenotype prediction, e.g. using PyTorch.

Research Center Borstel is publicly funded and the internationally operating Lung Center within the Leibniz Association, located close to Hamburg, one of Germany’s largest cities.
