It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Br. Mohamed Eltoweissy, a long time community member. He is survived by his wife Nahla Aboushaara and children Adarrahman, Mariam, and Somayah Eltoweissy and their spouses and children in Maryland and his son Youssef Eltoweissy, his wife Jannelle and children Ismaeel, Noor, and Yasseen in Georgia. He is also survived by his siblings Mayysa, Mona, Marwa, and Mahmoud Eltoweissy and their spouses and children in Egypt.

Br Mohamed also played a major role in ILIA, at DAT and other area communities, and has been a mentor for young leaders in the community.

Shah. He is survived by his wife Zubaida Shah, his children Farhana, Shahid, and Rashid Shah, his grandchildren and extended family, friends and the community he cared so much for. Br. Nehal is also the uncle of Asim Shah, son-in-law of Br. Abid Husain.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aisha Elahi, this morning. She is survived by her husband, Minhaj Hasan, her parents Asghar and Naheed Elahi, her brothers Waheed and Saeed Elahi. She is also the sister-in-law of Sarah Abbasi, Aijaz Hasan, and Hanna Hasan, and daughter-in-law of Riazul Hasan and Zahida Hasan.

Sr. Aisha was among the small group of youth who started what would later become Dar-us-Salaam (DUS). She served many crucial roles at DUS over the last 30 years and served as the Vice Principal of Al-Huda School for about 20 years as well. Her impact on the wider community is thus immeasurable.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sr. Nadira Abdullah.

She was a devoted educator for over 20 years in the MD, DC and VA area Muslim communities. She served at several Islamic institutions, including Al-Rahmah School in Baltimore, MD; Sister Clara Muhammad School & Muhammad Schools in Washington, DC; and the Muslim Community School in Potomac, MD. She later relocated to Atlanta, where she continued teaching special needs children in DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties.
