AICCRA-ESA: Workshop report from regional training

With apologies for the delay, I am writing this email just to share with you the report from our East and Southern Africa Regional Training On the Improved NextGen Seasonal Forecasting Approach (PyCPT 2) last year. It is linked here and also attached!

I also invite you to please check out AICCRA's new blog on our NextGen capacity building efforts and share it on Twitter if you like!

In the meantime, we are working diligently on the improvements and additions to PyCPT requested at the training.

Thank you for sharing the report and also congratulate the effort being done to improve the PyCPT. After the Zanzibar training workshop we faced many challenges to run the pyCPT for DJF, JFM FMA and so on.

We hope the PyCPT developers may resolve or improve it so that it can run one way once the Hindicast and Forecast files are available.

Hi Jonas,

 

After the Zanzibar training workshop we faced many challenges to run the pyCPT for DJF, JFM FMA and so on.

The leap year problem has been fixed in the latest version of the cpt-io package. To get the latest version, activate the conda environment where pycpt is installed, and then run the following command:

    conda update cpt-io

Let us know how it goes.
