Dear Colleagues,

I have made updates to PyCPT2, which include cleaner predictor and predictand domain plots. These plots can now also be saved. In addition, other plots have been enhanced. The updates are available in my GitHub repository: https://github.com/tamiratB/pyESA/tree/main.

Please follow the instructions provided on GitHub to patch your PyCPT installation and enjoy the new features.

Happy forecasting!

Best regards,

Tamirat, thank you for sharing your improvements.

I would like to suggest a change to the installation instructions in README.md.  Instead of modifying the pycpt-2.8.2 conda environment, I would prefer that people create a separate environment called e.g. pycpt-tamirat, and make the changes there. Otherwise we may get confused about which environment contains which version of the code, which can make it harder to debug problems.

I will write to you individually about working towards getting your changes integrated into a future version of PyCPT.

Thanks again
-Aaron

Dear Aaron,

Thank you for the heads-up. You are right, we don't want to create confusion between versions. I made minor changes, which I believe won't cause issues for now. However, as you mentioned, it could make tracking changes and debugging more difficult in the future. I will update my GitHub to include instructions on how to run it as a standalone version, rather than mixing and patching different versions.

Regards,
Tamirat
