[Confidential] IPv6 in "Enterprise"

Hi,

We are trying to join forces with other EU countries to get something finally going on IPv6 in the Enterprise world, and as such trying to bring this more in attention to the EU.

Following this, next week there is the Global Forum 2025 in Madrid, which will be used to try to bring it more into the picture.  Some councils joining Carlos Ralli Ucendo from Spain on this initiative.

The floor is open for any input, so in case you believe your company is putting in some efforts and topics in this area, please reply to me on this and tell us what you're dealing with, from an enterprise perspective.  Can be anything, local, NB-IoT, ... from any business type (retail, ...)

There will probably also be a list published, so in case we can share your "project", please indicate this.

All,

It has been a while, but it is time to schedule a new IPv6 council physical meeting.

We've selected the following possible dates to organize this meeting:

Wednesday, April 29 2026

Monday, May 4 2026

As always, if you have a venue to offer to organize this on one of these 2 days, please reach out to me or Pieter.

Venue should be capable of having around 40 people.

Target is half a day, starting around 1PM, but can be extended in case lots of topics would become available.  But assume 13h-17h or 17h30.  A plus would be having the possibility of some drinks after the meeting, nothing fancy needed, as usual 🙂.

Floor is also open to send in your contributions, i.e. in case you have some good use case or topic and are willing to present it, please reach out to me or Pieter.  Talks can be anything between 5 minutes and 30 minutes, but very flexible.  Can be slides or demo's, or both or  just a talk 🙂

Hoping to see many familiar (and new) faces.  Feel free to fwd this msg to your peers.

Once we agree on some venue and get enough content, we will communicate further on this.

Hi all,

1 month ago, I've sent the below announcement trying to get a new IPv6 council organized in end-of_April/Beginning-of-May 2026 timeframe.

I did get a few reach-outs for potential venues to organize it, which is appreciated however ... I did not get a single suggestion on topics to discuss / highlight.

We could of course get our traditional updates from the ISPs, get an IETF update from Eric etc, but would like to see a bit more action to it, hence the result is that we've taken the decision to postpone the event until autumn 2026, no date set yet.  

Maybe we should draw in AI, to make it more attractive, or use IPv6 Q-bits in Quantum cmputing 🙂.  Anyone, we count on your contributions and suggestions to make this work, so please take a step back and see if anything pops up, can be super-basic things, like enabled IPv6 in your company over more popular topics using AI or whatever.  There's today also the geopolitical situation, where Europe wants to be more independent from US/China for a number of things and where IPv6 can play a role, you often here the term "sovereignty" being used and so on.

Anyway, the floor is open, please don't hesitate to step forward and make suggestions.

 Dit was ook even een test welke e-mail adressen van ons nog werken. De @stip.nl en sander@gmail adressen doen het dus niet meer. 

Maar www.stipv6.nl is nog wel in de lucht!

Datum en plaats van deze meeting is nog onbekend. Idee was eerst april/mei, maar nu wordt het najaar. Er wordt nog gezocht naar een sponsor voor een locatie. Als iemand van jullie een gratis plek in Nederland weet zouden we dat voor kunnen stellen. Verder zijn ze op zoek naar onderwerpen. Met name AI en Quantum. Kunnen we daar iets in betekenen?

Ja, op GGI-Netwerk is ons DNS net dual stack geworden en ik hou de Google statistiek in de gaten, die in juni bijna de vijftig procent haalde en daar nu na 8 maanden nog steeds tegenaan zit. Maar even bijpraten in België lijkt me een goed idee, even kijken hoe het er voor staat.
