Weekly Update 10/30/2022

Membership Fees | Saturday InspireNC Meeting | RoboBoat Marine Robotics

Membership Fees

For our FIRST Robotics Competition, we will need to pay the registration fees in two weeks. As a result, there are $250 in membership fees to cover registration.

Methods of Paying Membership Fees:

  • Checks made out to InspireNC
  • Paypal
  • If your employer offers donation matching, please consider using this service

(As InspireNC is a non-profit, these count as tax-deductible donations)

If your student, in grades 9-12, is interested in participating in the FRC program, they must create an account with FIRST, at firstinspires.org. If your child is under 18, you will also need to create an account with FIRST and sign consent forms. After this, you can apply to our FRC Team, Team 6908 Infuzed, by clicking on the tab 'apply to a team' and searching for our team.

Saturday InspireNC Meeting

Our next InspireNC meeting will be Saturday, November 5th, 2022 from 2:30 to 4:30 PM. This meeting will serve as an update on all things InspireNC. Robotics students will be learning fundamentals about FRC mechanical and controls, and will be working on designing some offseason projects! In addition, business team will be working on grant-writing. We will also be getting into some greater detail regarding our upcoming RoboBoat season.

If you would like to add the InspireNC calendar to your personal Google calendars, you may do so using the following link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=aW5zcGlyZW5jQGluc3BpcmVuYy51cw

Roboboat

We are excited to announce that Roboboat season has officially started! We recently have finished designing our robot hull and will be working toward registration for the roboboat competition. Some important information regarding Roboboat. The tentative dates for the roboboat competition are March 13-21, 2023 and will be held in Sarasota, Florida. More important information will come as the competition nears.

In the mean time, there has been progress with the design of the hull. This week, we hope to discuss materials and building for the robot hull and more specifics regarding our hull design, as well as our visit to FRC team 2059's workspace to work with their CNC mill.
