Hello All!
We are now in FRC season! With the season beginning, we have a little bit of homework for the parents. For those parents who were unable to attend the kickoff parent orientation, the slides can be found here.
First, all high-school members must be registered to the FIRST website by January 22nd. On the website, there are two forms to be completed:
- 2022 FIRST Consent and Release Form
- 2022 FIRST NC Consent and Release Form
If these are not completed, members may not be able to participate in the competition. Both of these forms must be digitally signed by a parent or guardian through firstinspires.org. Please click here for an FRC step-by-step instruction set on this process.
Running an FRC team is VERY expensive. Because of this, we have dues for all of our members. Dues are $300 per member (Check made out to InspireNC) and can be collected at meetings. These contributions are tax-deductible donations! If possible, other methods of fundraising such as employer matching are extremely helpful. If you have any contacts at companies that could provide potential sponsorships, we would love to connect.
In addition, we ask that all students and parents fill out the following InspireNC census as soon as possible: https://forms.gle/E9SLokN3cJ1NEvw87. This is important for us to have updated contact information going into this season!
Finally, Infuzed will be taking part in two district events this year:
- ECU (Greenville, NC): March 11-13
- UNC Asheville (Asheville, NC): March 18-20
With COVID-19, the logistics for travel and accommodation are up in the air; we are waiting to hear more from FIRST. In past years, hotels and transportation have been arranged in groups organized by parents and students (InspireNC will not cover this). We wanted to provide this information in advance so that parents could have the dates, and start thinking about accommodation. It is not mandatory to attend each competition, however, it is encouraged!
