Hello Everyone,
As we get closer to competition, we have a few very important things for parents and students to look over. In this email we will outline:
Team Dues/Apparel
Health and Safety Policy
Hotel Booking/Food
Spectators

Team Dues/Apparel:
All members must purchase team apparel (t-shirt or hoodie). If members purchase a hoodie they need not purchase a t-shirt, but at competitions, members should be wearing team apparel at all times. Also if you have not paid the $300 dues, please do so via PayPal (select paying to a friend), or check made out to ‘InspireNC’.

Health and Safety:
FIRST policy requires a proof of a negative covid test OR fully vaccinated status to enter the event for all participants and spectators (booster not mandatory). Masks are required at all times, and if members do not wear their masks properly, they may be asked to leave. Everyone needs to upload a vaccination card (if fully vaccinated) to this site NO LATER THAN March 2nd. Proof of vaccination can be uploaded via a secure online portal here. If you plan on being in the pits/drive team you will also need to wear safety glasses (since they tend to fog up you may want K95 masks).
Hotel Booking/Food:
The two tournaments we are going to be attending are ECU (3/11-13) and Asheville (3/18-20). Hypothetically, members could commute each day of the tournament, but It is encouraged that members book hotels near to the tournament locations as the tournaments activities do start early, and end late. Some options for hotels have been compiled in the following, but feel free to book based on preference: https://bit.ly/3M7LoLd. Members may room and carpool to comps together, but that is up to them to figure out.
FNC District ECU (3/11-3/13)
ECU - Minges Coliseum: 1 Ficklen Drive, Greenville, NC
FNC District UNC Asheville (3/18-3/20)
UNC Asheville - Kimmel Arena: 227 Campus Drive, Asheville, NC
Outside food will not be allowed in the venue at ECU, but the venue is offering box lunches by order. The box lunches will be $10, and will have a sub (vegetarian option available), chips, cookie, and bottled water. If you would like to order a box lunch, you may indicate that in the above logistics form. Please keep in mind that you will need to account for lunch on Saturday, and Sunday. There will also be concessions in the venue throughout the day. Alternatively, members may get food from outside, as long as they do not bring it in the venue.
For Asheville, outside food is allowed and we suggest everyone budget $20 to cover lunch for both days. As the comp gets closer, we will coordinate food for the group.
Spectators
Spectators are allowed at the competition! Please encourage your parents and friends to pre-register for their wristbands. They may also upload their vaccination verification in advance for an even quicker check-in process. Please note: the vaccination verification portal for spectators is DIFFERENT than the team portal. DO NOT register as a spectator using the team portal. If you are a middle-school shadow member, you must also register as a spectator.
